Thanks for all of the updates. I have been holding out on the 360 version of TPA until the DLC comes out, but will probably splurge a little early and get those goals on the current tables out of the way.

Might as well get it now and enjoy the tables. It's not like it's going to be any cheaper when the DLC hits (or will it?)

Unfortunately PC games don't make as much money, so the business people always put it last.

Pack #4 will require a title update. The code for those tables wasn't done when we submitted the current title update.
I just hope this approval process will be smoother than the last one. Is FS now aware of all MS requirements?

When the DLC is available the tables will show up in your menu. I'm not sure if Microsoft is going to do any featuring or marketing type stuff for us, I don't deal with the business side of things.

We have been working with MS to see why the DLC hasn't been released. Other than that there is nothing new to report yet.

So am I correct in thinking that the dlc could just show up any time? No particular day?

In any case, I'm keeping my favourite gaming forum informed so people know what's going on, and to keep the interest going. It's little, but I hope others do the same to give your project the highest chances of long term success.

come on, Microsoft - Optional Update, and Packs #1-3 on the 31st, please. I'll hate you less, if you do. Okay, not that much less, but still, you'll get some of my money, and we all know that's all you care about.

It's a possibility, but DLC is usually released on Tuesdays, so there's a much greater chance of it arriving then than any other day of the week. I don't know if there is any special day for optional updates, though. I imagine they can happen any time, Monday through Friday.

I just gave the demo another try and it is fantastic compared to the PS3 version. However, I am still hesitant to make the purchase because FS said that they would be changing the lighting and that is a big reason I don't play the PS3 version. The tables look amazing the way they do now and if they ruin them by making them dark like on the PS3 then I will not be happy. That being said, the flippers are so much snappier and clean on the 360 and I was very close to making the purchase. If I can be assured that the game will never get changed to the horrific look that the PS3 has then I will make the purchase instantly as well as all of the DLC when it does get released.

The new lighting is part of the Optional Update and you can delete the Optional Update from your hard drive at any time you see fit.

The Optional Update is considered FREE DLC and should be released with the DLC Table Packs.

But won't the dlc's always have the new lighting with or without the optional update? I've always thought the opt. update was for the core tables.

Will this have any adverse effect on the ability to play the DLC or anything else associated with the game?

No, the assets for all DLC Tables should be contained in the mandatory Title Updates. However, and Mike may want to chime in on this, the Optional Update (current and future) may include fixes and other improvements to existing tables that you may not be able to take advantage of if the Optional Update associated with those fixes and improvements is not installed.

Correct, DLC Tables will always have their own lighting and will not require an Optional Update, but Crush3d_Turtle was referring to the core tables if I'm not mistaken.

Don't forget that FS is planning on implementing a day/night slider option so everyone will be satisfied.

Well, will this be THE week? I'm optimistic that we'll at least get a solid date on the DLC release.

It's all up to Microsoft to decide when all the approved content they currently have in their possession is released. FarSight, along with the rest of us, eagerly awaits Microsoft's decision.

The optional update only fixes the 4 launch tables. The Title Update which you are "required" to download to stay on xbox live adds the new tables.

I think you will all like the lighting on the optional update better. It removes the overblown washed out look (that's really obvious on the TOM lamps)

Thank you for clearing that up, Mike. I'm definitely looking forward to the new lighting.

Yes, exactly, and I'm optimistic that MS will share that decision with us this week. Of course, last time I was optimistic, things didn't turn out well.
