Confirming that it doesn't seem to work in portrait resolutions for whatever reason. I have 1200x1920 native in portrait so I set it to 1280x1920 and it's just showing a small landscape slice in the window.
The flippers seem to behave the same way they do in the machines I've seen. You need to utilize dead passes/nudging/the extra flipper to stop momentum if you want to cradle on the table most of the time. It's designed that way. There are a few other tables in the TPA lineup that work the same...
It's only been a few weeks, but I still agree that it's probably pretty confusing for the casual user that the option is there but doesn't do anything.
Counterpoint: TAF is a glitchy terrible boring table, and Starship Troopers is in the top 5 most fun tables in the game currently for me. Everyone likes different things.
Mark and quite a few other people here have gone way past a trillion. The problem isn't getting there, it's that the score resets back to 0 after hitting a trillion instead of continuing over, so there's no leaderboard proof of the fact.
Yeah I didn't really mean to blame the beta testers that much. I was just extremely frustrated by some of these really long standing things not getting fixed at all, and the beta system is completely opaque so honestly there's no way for anyone outside it to know how things work. Sorry for the rant.
This isn't really the thread for this discussion, but the primary problem is that the ROM glitches out after a while and starts dumping way too many points at you, and the secondary one is that the Farsight overflow system doesn't award 10 billion rollovers all the time (which affects several...
This is still completely idiotic by the way. There are longstanding score overflow bugs with various tables that are simple to fix, and a ton of other issues that aren't even in the bug master list. I really don't grasp the entire situation with bug reports and farsight. Either a) the beta...
I wasn't talking about your score. None of the scores on the table are dubious because of the score. They're dubious because of when they were posted and by who.
Failsight is somewhere in there, as well as "Go **** yourself" (in a weird font), and syntax terror (who also has the #1 on gold) is pretty dubious. None of those are 100% fake but very likely. Like I said though it's not like it really matters. In fact failsight was in top 10 twice till a while...
A lot of the TAF top 10 scores are totally bogus for sure, but who gives a hoot I guess. Can't really start pointing fingers unless it's absolutely blatant, and if people feel the need to cheat in games that are essentially just about having fun, it's their own shame.
Actually, do we have any other stern games currently in that use the same board? That would be a fairly solid way of confirming it I think since the scoring systems tend to behave fairly identically. I'm not sure if we do though. TPA itself never truncates scores. If it goes over the internal...
A lot of this will cease to be a problem if we get a well made tournament mode and leaderboard system. Even the best of tables stops being fun after a certain number of hours on a single game, and I for sure would switch over to that game mode once/if we get it.
I don't really have any information so share, other than that they are very likely hacked or glitched, since no other table in TPA behaves in this way that I know of. No real way of telling for absolute sure though unless you want to grind out to 10B. I don't really have the will to do that at...
