It's a lot of bad things but rushed isn't one of them. It took forever coming out and it's ridiculous that it's as bad as it is. I'm expecting most fixes to take a year or so and expecting some issues to never be fixed.
Someone at Farsight should take a class in graphic design.
I just realized that it's going to take at least a year for the bugs and various issues pertaining to the new UI to be fixed on most platforms.
This is what happens when you are a small team supporting like 15 platforms and you're concurrently working on a new app that will support 8.
It's butt-ugly but functional. Some of the new features are actually really nice to have. I'm playing on iPad and I am greatful that we can now turn off menu and table music on ios.
One problem on iOS that needs to be fixed ASAP: the ball launch button is SUPER TEENY-TINY. Same for the special...
Amazing work, how did you do this? I ask as someone who is curious about devloping original digital pinball tables. I assume you modeled everything by hand? Where did you get the art? How does the DMD work? I guess I don't understand how the ROM works with Unity. Also, are the physics yours...
I have the Saturn version of Last Gladiators waiting for a write-up. It released the year before Necronomicon and I understand that Necronomicon is supposed to be much better. I believe the IOS version of Last Gladiators wants $5/table for the 4 tables. LG was released in the U.S. on Saturn and...
Hope you guys thought this was interesting. I updated the OP with pics of the other tables.
So it looks like this company, Kaze, made more pinball games using this engine. I'll look into tracking them down and doing some more write-ups, especially if there are ports.
Hey folks! I'm always looking for new, weird digital pinball games to try since my state is so dry on the real thing. I thought I'd share my review on a real diamond in the rough from the 90s.
Necronomicon Pinball is a Japan-only Sega Saturn pinball game developed by KaZe that never released on...
FS is too busy making SPA for more platforms. It's been two weeks since it was stealth released on GearVR and there hasn't been a single patch to improve performance on the three busted tables they are charging $5/each for.
Attack From Mars is probably my favorite pin on TPA and IRL.
It's simply a masterclass in design. Fantastic art, amusing DMD and sound package, great theme, well-thought rules. What I truly appreciate about the table is the playfield itself. This is THE pin for introducing pinball to new...
Your outlook conveniently ignores that TPA has a host of bugs, many of them platform-specific, on each platform it is available on. You've got 5 buggy tables? That's nice. Someone else has 10. Some platforms don't have leaderboards. Some have audio issues on EVERY TABLE. iOS has a compatibility...
Cue Ball Wizard sucks. One of my least-played tables. Man, if that's true that's irritating.
Seawitch is pretty cool. I played one at Logan's in Chicago. They have a lot of Sterns from that era. I really like the art from that period. I wish modern Stern would take cues...
I love those! I mean, they are AWFUL. They are also photos, though. I guess I meant drawn art. SF2 stands out because it is based on another property where much better art is available to compare it to. It looks like a cheap knock off. I was being hyperbolic, though. Lots of pins have terrible...
It's one of those situation where ANY developer could step in and steal the market by raising the quality bar and being communicative, but it won't happen because the market isn't worth pursuing. FS just stepped in to fill a void and now we are all at their mercy. It's them or nothing.
Oh, yes, Zaccaria. I always forget about them even though I own all the tables on iOS... They do a good job, given their resources. But not on consoles and obviously they only do (did) the Zaccaria tables... Which, I believe, they are officially done making, right? They are just porting to other...
So what do we do? Farsight is the ONLY developer making digital recreations of real-world pinball tables on platforms outside of PC, and they are one of the few devs making digital pinball at all.
They know their product is bugged and even somewhat broken in some cases. But instead of focusing...
OBJECTION! Hollywood Heat is garbage. It was (and still is) one of the oh-so-few pins in Indianapolis and I have forced myself to spend a lot of time with it as a result. The game is super lame.
I got a 64gb and I honestly wish I'd gone with a 128gb. I'm also a crazy person who likes to have EVERYTHING downloaded, so for most people I think 64gb is good. But the newest iPads seem to have ditched the 64gb. The Air 2 is honestly still really good, but if you are an artist you might...
