Ok, thanks! ... Moovenstein is one of the two I know of. I watched the start of his Firepower game last weekend for inspiration, and have watched parts of several others.
Forgive me, but I don't know if I know what a longplay is. I am very much interested in full-game youtube vids of Top 20 players' best games. Unfortunately I know of only two Top 20 players that have games on youtube, but that's one more than I knew of yesterday!
I don't think I am interested...
Something seems a little off here. I think I am a top hundred player (if not, I don't mind being told why :)). I can play BoP a long time, 2 or 3 hours, but I cannot play it 12+ hours. I've tried. I'm just not sure that there are 100 players who can play it for 12+ hours. Maybe 10 or 20...
"This sort of thinking should be used to prevent tables form being played forever."
Why? There might be a good reason, but you don't offer one. What's wrong with a situation where a few players can play a table for a very long time?
Can you please say something rather than "forever"? Be...
I would be happy for just the website leaderboards to show the platform. Surely it is in their database table, and there is plenty of room for it on the webpage. It should be a change to only one line, and when I was a programmer I would have estimated 5 minutes to fix it... at $120/hr that's...
Does the PS3 have its own leaderboard? I thought Xbox was the only platform with its own leaderboard? You're saying the leaderboard on the PS3 looks different from the website leaderboard at www.pinballarcade.com/Leaderboards ? I am confused, and I would like to understand what's going on...
Ok... you gave me the hint I needed to finally figure it out for myself :). Fantastic! I didn't think it could be done but I should've have given up so easily. All that hand copying for nothing but... fun?
Hmm... now what, I don't think I will grab that many scores, the top 100 seems enough...
Amazing stuff! Is there any chance that you can post the scraping code... or email it to me? Please? I cannot figure out how to do it, and would love to be able to! Thanks for posting your stuff, anyway!
I maybe shouldn't have been so harsh on Stern. It's mainly that I love the 1990s WMSs so much and the difference between them and the Sterns I've played seems so very large.
I will say that I only said I'd put Popeye ahead of X-Men, Avengers, and AC/DC. I haven't played LOTR, I don't think...
My current hometown has literally zero pinball machines. Well I think there's a broken Party Zone but I don't consider that pinball. But my town -is- one of the large auction locations, so I get to play lots of machines for free one day every three months. The auction rarely has any of the...
Picking 5 from the entire history of pinball is flat-out impossible; I started making a list of my favorites shooting for ~15 machines, and had a list of 80 just from going through 1988-2000 before I stopped.
1. The Pinball Circus (Bally 1994) - the famous vertical pinball; only 2 produced. I...
I'd like to say I scraped it, but the webpage leaderboards appear to be inside a flash thingie that I cannot figure out how to unravel. I would very much like to know a way of extracting the data from the webpage. I asked here awhile back and I don't think anyone knew/cared, and time passed...
These are the usernames currently on the leaderboards, or recently removed, other than FailSight, that I have noted as hacked:
Fritz Hutterer: for TOTAN quintillion and BK2K 499B.
Rob: for Big Shot 15,251,410 and Genie 17,639,850 (10 points over Tarek Oberdieck).
The Pinbug Arcade: for Centaur...
