They made CBW—when they did—because they couldn't make a non-Gottlieb table. It's that simple.
I don't recall anyone suggesting that EBD was planned over CBW. A lot of posters here insisted that EBD was a done deal, in general. This was assumed true to the point that several posters stated they...
Made the hour drive to Brighton and played a couple of hours of pinball (and one game of Dig Dug to burn off the tale end of my tokens.) I played my best on Attack from Mars, and my wife kicked my butt soundly in three games of Cirqus Voltaire. Most pins are LED equipped and $1 per credit, with...
Dokken, FB's popularity is not in question. It's representation of what would sell in TPA is. Someone advocating within these forums is much more likely to actually make a purchase from FS (and less likely to pirate, I dare say.) These forums also represent people of all ages. The demographics...
Do you seriously think that FB posters represent the public at large, let alone the pinball public? This forum, dedicated to TPA, is clearly more representative of what will sell.
This.
I'd be quite happy with Embryon, too. Centaur was a pleasant surprise for many TPA players. Old school is a necessary part of the stated mission of TPA.
Yes, nudging was always part of the game. I don't understand the suggestion of "house rules". Much of the skill of pinball comes from nudging. It's simply not pinball without nudging.
Gorgar, because I played it a whole lot in the early '80s. I'm not a completist when it comes to achievements, so there are some tables that I will never get all of the goals. For example, I enjoy TOTAN, but won't see Harem Multiball unless it happens by chance. If one of the goals for a table...
The OP clearly asked: "Which platform of TPA has the best in Sound and GFX?"
Then OP then proceeded to answer their own question: "a high end PC or PS4"
Obviously, mobile platforms don't have the horsepower of consoles and PCs.
1. Paragon
2. Eight Ball Deluxe
3. Lord of the Rings
4. Joker Poker
5. Spirit of 76
I guess it's a good thing that Visual Pinball exists, since most of these will never be in TPA.
Marvin's pins are always well maintained. I can't wait to see the new arcade in Brighton (half-way between Detroit and Lansing, on I-96, for those not familiar with Michigan.) Here's a Pinside thread on The Arcade...
