By the way, I've played Phantom of the Opera (if anyone is stopping by Orange County in California, the Lake Forest Ice Palace has it again), and I enjoyed it. Despite it having a sparse layout, the ball moves pretty fast, and you can maintain good control over where the ball will go. The rules are extremely simple but that only means it's clear--it only means there is nothing in Phantom of the Opera that isn't necessary. The two things I have against it, however, are the difficulty of reaching the rollover switches above the bumpers that you want as there is no lane-change and the only way up there after the initial plunge is a shot up the right orbit; and that balls tend to get stuck in the up-kicker on the left, as it doesn't seem designed for heavy-duty use, yet the game encourages you to shoot every ball into it (via the pipe organ). A minor one is that sicne the pipe organ is so steep, it results in a lot of air balls. I would put Phantom of the Opera at an 8 out of 10.

This is by no means an appealing table to someone just walking on by though. Pretty much any licensed theme that people can remember will attract them more. This Phantom of the Opera machine had a Batman Forever to the left and a Mary Shelley's Frankenstein to the right, and I see both played way more than Phantom. In other words, it's a good table, but it has a theme few people care about.

I never understood the love for "Batman Forever"? A local Halloween store has one in there, and it's not that fun to me. Plus, I was never a fan of that abortion of a movie, so that probably has something to do with it.

It's better than you expected, while the Batwing Cannon is a bit tedious it still plays well. Don't really like the playfield design, it's like someone said "Hey Joe, let's take a STTNG, move the jets over to the left side, and remove the spinner"

I've actually played a ton of Batman Forever. Not recently, mind you, but I've played it many times.

I never would have guessed you're into 80s Metal.... ;)

Bobby king stated it had a better chance of getting in one day because it's based on the play and not the who's music or likeness.

Pinball backglass with "The Who's Tommy" says hi (laugh).

In all seriousness. the songs are covers of Who songs from the Tommy Album, and thus it still probably has to go through them, same as the musical did.

Oddly enough, Party Zone has a cover of pinball wizard on it.

I agree with you about WHO. Not a bug fan of the UN either.

I know there's a joke in there somewhere, but IDK if this is the right time or space for it. Maybe if there were a unit dedicated to something like that

Pretty much.

I mean, it's ok, but is nowhere near as fun as the '89 version looks. I'd really like to check that table out if I could find one.

While the 1989 version does have a better theme the gameplay just sucks. Best strategy is to just loop the middle ramp for unlimited millions, even the multiball is not worth going for when you can do this. Also the Batcave looks like poop on that game.

I'd rather have all that than listen to Jim Carrey.

Also be prepared to hear "There'll be a hot time in the old town tonight". A lot. The entire game is that. Sure you don't want to listen to Jim Carrey?

Data East had that problem a lot, you can't play TMNT without hearing "Serious pizza!" or "NINJA"

Gorgar had more varied speech with just seven words/sounds.

I have enjoyed everything so far in Season 3. The majority of tables in TPA I have never played before so it is fun getting to try something new. I have no clue or suggestion on what table to do next but I know I will enjoy whatever it may be.

I saw that The Pinball Arcade liked my post that I've predicted that F-14 Tomcat is coming in Season 3! Let's keep our fingers crossed!

Forget it, they've already said that getting that license, as well as "Corvette" would be challenge, abiet a pricey one, because of the company that owns either vehicle.

I honestly would LOVE to see it get made, though.
