SYT, it's great to see you're still here! So many of those issues that you stated here are why I rarely read this board. I like the pinball tables when I'm playing them. Reading about the problems that have never been addressed was making the game not so much fun. And that's not right!
It's actually easier on the PS4. The first person signs in as user X. The second person, when it is his or her turn, hits the PS button on their DS4. When the user menu pops up they select user X. That will turn off the first controller and now the second controller is in use.
Their contracts require them to produce the tables as close as technically possible to the original production table as they can. They've had to go back and remove some items because the physical table they were using to copy from had some kind of mod installed. On Twilight Zone it was a post...
For the PS4 FarSight said that they accidentally loaded the mobile version of the sound. I don't know if that's been fixed or if they are at least loading the new tables with better sound quality. I don't think there is a better version of the crappy startup music. Either way I don't hear any...
The tables on Hall seem really floaty to me compared to TPA like in real life if you reduce the angle of the table. The rule sets and sounds are also off on most tables. One of the FarSight guys was telling me that the rule set was off for one of the tables on Hall so much that they started...
Do many others here play pinball with their family? My wife, daughter and I play TPA regularly on the PS4 and make trips to play real Pinball whenever possible. It just seems like a great family pastime as age and gender don't matter once the girl got tall enough to play a real machine. Her and...
Mod support is unlikely because of Farsight's licensing contract for the tables from the manufacturers. Their contacts all have a clause that only allows them to distribute the tables as they were in production. FarSight has even had to go back and patch mistakes that they made because their...
I doubt this is the reason or TPA would not have been featured so prominently at the gaming show where Sony was showing off the PS4 the spring before the PS4 debut.
Schrödinger is driving home one night and gets pulled over for speeding. The cop asks him if he can search the car and Schrödinger gives his consent. A few minutes later the cop comes back to Schrödinger and asks, "Do ya know there's a dead cat in there?" Schrödinger replies, "Well, I do now!"
My brother and I used to talk about pinball score inflation. In some ways the higher scores on EM machines could reflect their complexity. On the first solid state games, more digits in the score could reflect that there was more memory in the machine. Once you get to modern tables of 1990 and...
It looks much better on the PS4. Much more of the text on the PS4 tables is readable. The light shows are better looking. They have the complete sounds on tables like Medieval Madness. The sound issue that the PS4 did have on launch is much improved.
