Yes he gives a nice balanced view. I was pleased to hear him say he still buys the tables in TPA as he is keen to support people who promote pinball.
It is so odd how the various settings are performing differently for different people.
That sounds pretty good. It is true the VP thing isn't as straightforward as a Steam game of course, and it helps to be a bit handy with computers. I know the all-in-one installer installs VP, VPinmame, Backglass Server, etc. so the only things that need adding are tables and ROMs.
It really is awesome. The lighting and physics and come on leaps and bounds. It isn't hassle to setup either (there is an all in one installer nowadays for VPX/VP10).
There is a channel where some guy posts videos of all the table releases. If you try and view one of his portrait videos...
I just watched his hour long video on Arcooda Pinball - I rarely listen to a video in full but this was worth a listen for sure,. He does a VPX comparison which is good to observe, and made some recommendations for the Arcooda product which hopefully Farsight/Arcooda may consider going...
The thing is I can run BlackFlaggers on max settings with my desktop hardware, but the 3 views in the Arcooda build are still unusable. This points to a coding issue rather than hadware. I know Farsight are on the case so I will wait, and if it can't be resolved I will just get a refund (oh...
Would also be really interested to see what you think Timeshock if you get to see that shutyertrap. Would really like to know if there is there blurring in the upper playfield something Barnstorm never fixed for Kickstarter supporters in the 100$ plus tiers. If it's fixed in the Arcooda...
No I didn't see that. I tried killing Steam that you suggested but that didn't work for me, but maybe it is because I clicked back onto TPA rather than Alt-tabbing.
Agree it definitely isn't a fix, but weird how a simple Alt-Tab increases the frame rate. I thought it is related to the Windows...
Sure - here you go.
One odd observation which might help your devs.
I took a photo of the screen to get a true image of the processor while the ball was moving in slow motion at 30FPS in view 3. The lights also flicker in slow motion.
1/ I launched the Task Mgr Perf Monitor on my...
np :). These are indeed for the view 3.
Just to add - the egg ball is only present in the top most half of the table (where the intended 3D stretching is most prominent).
In the lower half of the table the ball is round. Maybe the solution is to just "anti-stretch" / "or not stretch" the...
Thanks for the info. Will the next build include the change to backglass rendering that might improve performance that you mentioned yesterday (ie: the one in 1.70.20 that was rolled back)?
I have the slow motion ball as well in those views (as shown in my video in the first post) so it sounds like we have the same behaviour after all. When I switch on the FPS counter it is showing 30fps in those 3 views.
Here is a link to the part of the video showing the slow motion ball...
